The market is quiet. The risk isn’t. 🌍⚠️

Asian equities are opening the week relatively flat while oil pulls back slightly, as investors wait for clarity on potential US sanctions against Iran.

But for me, the bigger story isn’t Monday’s price action.

It’s the collision between stretched valuations, rising bond yields, inflation, and geopolitical risk. 📊

NVIDIA earnings are coming. 🖥️

Jackson Hole is coming. 🏦

And the Fed is becoming increasingly important for every risk asset.

NVDA is expected to deliver around $92B in quarterly revenue, meaning the market is already pricing in an extremely high bar.

Good earnings may no longer be enough.

The question is whether NVIDIA can beat expectations enough to justify current valuations.

At the same time, the US 30Y Treasury yield remains above 5.27%. 📈

That matters.

Higher long-term yields increase the discount rate applied to future earnings, putting pressure on expensive growth stocks and, by extension, other high-beta assets.

Meanwhile, oil remains highly sensitive to the Iran/Hormuz situation. 🛢️

Brent jumped 6.6% last week, but is now pulling back around 1%.

This tells me the market isn’t necessarily pricing in a full-blown energy shock yet.

It’s waiting for confirmation.

Gold is telling a different story. 🥇

At around $4,623/oz, gold continues pushing higher and is heading toward an extraordinary monthly gain.

That isn’t just a commodity trade.

It’s a signal that investors are increasingly willing to pay for protection against:

If yields stabilize, inflation cools and the Fed becomes more dovish, risk assets could get another leg higher. 🚀

NVIDIA is making an interesting move in Australia, expanding the computing capacity of data centers to as much as 2 GW by 2027. ⚡️

On the surface, this looks like another data center expansion story.

But in my view, the more important story is what sits behind that 2 GW figure.

AI is gradually moving from a question of “how intelligent can the models become?” to a much more fundamental question:

“Do we have enough infrastructure to actually run them?” 🧠

Computing power, electricity, data centers, cooling systems and transmission networks are increasingly becoming strategic assets in the AI economy.

That means NVIDIA is no longer simply a GPU company.

It is moving deeper into the infrastructure layer that supports the entire AI ecosystem. 🖥️🏗️

Australia is a good example of this shift.

The country wants to become a major data center hub, but the rapid expansion of AI is creating another challenge: the more AI grows, the more electricity and water these facilities require. 💧⚡️

And this is where I find the bigger picture particularly interesting.

AI may create enormous productivity gains, but turning that potential into real economic value requires an equally massive physical infrastructure layer underneath it.

GPUs can be manufactured at scale.

Electricity, land, water, power grids and data centers are much harder to scale at the same speed.

So, in the next phase of the AI cycle, I don’t think the market will focus only on NVIDIA or the companies building the most advanced models.

Attention could increasingly shift toward the companies controlling the bottlenecks of AI infrastructure:

⚡️ Power generation
🏗️ Data centers
🌐 Network infrastructure
💧 Water & cooling
🔌 Power grids
🖥️ Computing capacity

In other words, the AI race is no longer just a competition between models.

It is increasingly becoming a competition to build, secure and control the physical infrastructure required to run those models at massive scale.

And if AI demand continues growing at the current pace, I wouldn’t be surprised if 2 GW in Australia looks like a relatively small number when we look back a few years from now.

🌍 Hormuz, Oil and a Supply Shock Waiting to Happen?

A projectile struck a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, while Saudi Arabia shut down its East-West oil pipeline following a drone attack. According to the information provided, these developments pushed Brent crude above $100 per barrel.

What matters is not just the oil price itself, but the fact that several critical supply routes are coming under pressure at the same time.

⛽ Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline has previously transported around 4–5 million barrels of oil per day, equivalent to as much as 5% of global supply. If the disruption lasts, the market will face a major question: how quickly can alternative supply become available?

🚢 Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints. An attack on a commercial vessel does not necessarily remove the entire supply immediately, but it can sharply increase shipping costs, insurance premiums and delivery risks.

And markets often price in risk before the full extent of the damage is known.

📈 This is why oil prices can move so quickly during events like these. It is not only about barrels that are already missing, but also about the possibility of future shortages being priced in.

If disruptions persist, the impact could spread to:

→ Fuel prices and transportation costs
→ Production and logistics expenses
→ Inflation in energy-importing economies
→ Interest rate expectations and monetary policy
→ Risk sentiment across financial markets, including crypto

⚠️ However, it is important to distinguish between actual supply disruption and the geopolitical risk premium embedded in oil prices. Brent trading above $100 does not automatically mean the market has immediately lost 5% of global supply. Prices may also be reflecting the possibility of further escalation.

🕊️ On the diplomatic front, Iran is expected to attend a regional meeting in Oman on Monday to discuss the future of the Strait of Hormuz. However, a senior Iranian official has lowered expectations of a breakthrough, saying that any reopening would require seven conditions to be met, including recognition of Iran’s control and right to charge transit fees.

This suggests the issue is no longer simply a maritime incident. It has become a question of security, sovereignty, trade and regional power.

💭 My personal view:

I think the market is facing a particularly difficult risk to price: not just the loss of supply, but the possibility that critical supply routes can no longer be considered safe.

If tensions remain limited to a few isolated attacks, oil prices could adjust quickly once the risk premium fades. But if attacks continue, the pipeline remains offline and transit through Hormuz becomes increasingly restricted, the narrative will shift from a “geopolitical headline” to a genuine “supply shock.”

And at that point, the impact will extend far beyond oil.

It could become a new variable in the inflation, interest rate and risk appetite equation across global financial markets.

Who controls the treasury?

Who can upgrade the smart contract?

Those questions matter much more than simply seeing “DAO” or “Governance” attached to a token.

This is where I think the educational approach from zBit is useful.

A trading platform should not only help users execute trades. Users also need to understand what they are actually trading, how crypto protocols work, and where the risks are.

zBit is building around an accessible trading experience while also using Edu Hub to explain concepts such as wallets, security, governance and other parts of Web3 in a way that is easier for everyday users to understand.

That combination matters.

Better trading infrastructure can improve the execution side.

Better education can improve the decision-making side.

And neither replaces the other.

For DAO tokens specifically, I would never stop at the price chart.

Before buying, I would look at:

• Governance structure
• Token distribution
• Voting power concentration
• Treasury holdings
• Smart contract upgrade authority
• Proposal history
• Potential governance attack vectors

Crypto moves fast.

Understanding what you are interacting with should move with it.

That is why I find the Edu Hub concept interesting: not simply telling users what to trade, but helping them understand the system behind the asset.
