Through our Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED) program, we were proud to be a co-sponsor of the recent launch of the Neary Rattanak VI Strategic Plan 2024-2028.
The Strategic Plan aims to advance gender equality and inclusion in Cambodia through six priority strategies, including women’s economic empowerment and women and climate change, from climate adaptation to community resilience.
Presided over by Minister of Women's Affairs H.E. Dr Ing Kantha Phavi, and the Australian Embassy’s Ms Amber Cernovs, the launch drew more than 500 participants.

Climate change poses an urgent threat to our region, but many young Cambodians are committed to making a difference.
Australia was proud to support the Cambodia Youth Climate Change program. Through a series of workshops, field visits and discussions held from January to April, the program engaged about 60 students to learn about climate change challenges and develop innovative solutions.
At the program’s culminating conference on 28 April, these young environmental leaders showcased their resulting climate solutions – ranging from mobile solar panels for renewable energy to plastic recycling and eco-friendly products. ♻️
Australia is supporting Cambodia to strengthen its resilience to climate change impacts, transition to clean energy, and meet its climate neutrality target by 2050.

Australia Supports Competitiveness, Inclusion and Sustainability in Agro-Processing
Cambodia’s agri-food sector faces competitiveness challenges stemming from high production and electricity costs, a lack of diversification and staff retention issues.
Australia is partnering with Cambodia to address these challenges in agro-processing by developing the care economy, diversifying product offerings for export, and improving climate resilience.
These interventions were showcased during a recent visit by senior Australian Government official, Ms Caroline Linke, to Kirirom Food Production KFP Co., Ltd. (KFP), a dried fruit product producer specialising in mangoes.
KFP is establishing a childcare facility to better serve and retain its employees. The company is reducing waste, creating new products and increasing export potential by converting misshapen mangoes into puree. KFP will also benefit from the Energy Service Company (ESCO) model approach to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
Australia is support KPF through our flagship economic development program, CAPRED, to help Cambodia achieve resilient, inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
