Growing Stronger Together: Australia Supports Cambodia's Rice Industry πΎ
Australia has supported Cambodia's agriculture sector for more than 60 years. This support includes introducing new farming techniques, developing climate-resilient rice varieties, and establishing Cambodia's prominent agricultural research institute, the Cambodian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI).
We are proud to sponsor this yearβs Cambodia Rice Forum. Taking place 10-12 September in Phnom Penh, the forum provides a great opportunity for businesses to showcase Cambodia's premium rice offerings and connect with potential buyers from Australia and beyond.
We continue to partner with Cambodia for more sustainable, resilient and inclusive rice crop production, processing and exports, through our CAPRED program.

Australia Partners with Institut Pasteur du Cambodge to Promote Exports and Food Safety
Australia π¦πΊ is supporting Cambodia π°π to strengthen its agro-processing sector and increase opportunities for foreign trade and investment.
Did you know about 70% of businesses face barriers when trying to export processed agricultural products? This is in part due to the lack of accredited laboratory testing services in Cambodia. π¬
Cambodian agro-processors have had to rely on costly and time-consuming foreign testing services, hindering their competitiveness in exporting products.
Australia, through our CAPRED program, has partnered with the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge to launch the collaboration to establish accredited testing (ISO 17025) services β for pesticide residue, antibiotic residue and heavy metals. This will enable businesses to ensure certified safe, high-quality food products and expand to global markets.
