Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) account for 90 per cent of businesses in Cambodia.
Recently, more than 2,700 MSME owners shared their perspectives through a country-wide survey, supported by Australia through CAPRED in partnership with The Asia Foundation.
Business owners provided insights on business performance, climate impacts, labour and skills, digital adoption, social protection benefits, and access to finance, among other topics.

Cambodian Cashew Producers Secure International Orders with Australian Support
Australia, through CAPRED, is helping the Cambodian private sector strengthen market linkages in the cashew industry.
Two firms have recently signed agreements involving investment from Australia and orders from Indonesia, China and Singapore, with negotiations with other potential firms underway.
Australia funded a Cambodian delegation to attend the 2024 World Cashew conference in Siem Reap and the 2025 conference in Dubai. With Australia’s expert guidance, producers and government representative were able to showcase Cambodia’s unique offerings to international investors.
Australia remains committed to helping Cambodia promote trade and investment, boosting the country’s economy to achieve resilient, inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Australia supports clean water access in Kampong Thom
Australia has helped over 1.2 million rural Cambodians to access clean piped water, and we’re committed to continue supporting Cambodia to achieve universal access to clean water by 2030.
In Kampong Thom’s Prasat Sambo district, more than 24,300 people now have access to safe, piped water thanks to Australia’s support to a local private water operator through CAPRED.
For IDPoor cardholder Ka Huy, this access has made all the difference. It has eased the daily burden of collecting water, protected her from dry season shortages, and ensured safe water is available for daily use.
