Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED) is working with the Royal Government of Cambodia to establish an inclusive and resilient ecosystem for Cambodia's first Agri-food Industrial Park.
The Park creates stronger productivity, long-term economic growth, job creation, gender equality and inclusion in agri-food sector, and new export opportunities for Cambodian agribusiness. This will help Cambodia tackle the challenges of attracting businesses into agro-processing.

Over the past decade, Australia has helped over a million Cambodians to access clean, piped water in their homes for the first time. This is a huge step forward, especially for vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, including women and people with disabilities, supporting them to meet domestic needs and for many, to run small businesses.
Australia continues its water infrastructure services with CAPRED. Its overall goal is to help Cambodia achieve sustainable, inclusive and resilient economic growth. Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and climate resilience are incorporated into all CAPRED activities.

Did you know that almost 99% of rural villages in Cambodia are now connected to the main electricity grid?
Over the last decade, Australia has supported Cambodia to deliver sustainable and quality electricity infrastructure services across the country. We are now working together to connect the four villages, among other 1% final villages, across the Kampong Cham commune, Sambour districts, Kratie province.
We jointly visited Sambour district with the Ministry of Mines and Energy Cambodia, Electricity Authority of Cambodia អាជ្ញាធរអគ្គិសនីកម្ពុជា, and a private company to meet with local authorities and communities. They discussed the potential establishment of a solar farm to provide mini off-grid electricity to the four villages. The solar farm would provide 4,000 people in these four villages, with over 50% women and girls with affordable, reliable and plentiful supply of electricity.

Australia is supporting Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation to establish a Water Development Fund to help Cambodia achieve its goal of providing universal access to safe, clean, and secure water to all Cambodians by 2030.
Through our new economic development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), Australia supported MISTI to bring together representatives from the Cambodian Water Supply Association, various ministries and development partners to help design the Fund. Discussions will help inform the draft of fund’s Sub-decree and Standard Operating Procedure, which are the key legal instruments for the establishment of the Water Development Fund.
CAPRED works across agriculture and infrastructure services with gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and climate resilience integrated into all activities.

Australia’s concluded program supported Rural Electricity Enterprises (REE) on various projects across Cambodia to expand the electricity network to accelerate access to reliable electricity in rural areas. Through this initiative, over 140,000 rural Cambodians can enjoy the benefits of a reliable power supply, including new economic opportunities created in these areas.
The Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED) is Australia’s current development program. It aims to help Cambodia achieve sustainable, inclusive and resilient economic growth with gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and climate resilience integrated into all activities. CAPRED is working with the Ministry of Mine and Energy and other stakeholders to connect Cambodia’s remaining 1% off-grid villages to sufficient electricity.
