Australia supports a sustainable and competitive agriculture sector in Cambodia.

Last Friday, Ambassador Whyatt was pleased to meet HE Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to discuss Australia’s and Cambodia’s collaboration and opportunities for a competitive agriculture sector.

Through Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development – CAPRED Australia is working to support Cambodia’s agriculture innovation, agri-food development, trade and investment for inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the country.

📣 Request for proposals - Strategic Partnership for Climate Finance

CAPRED seeks to engage a highly competent supplier which can be a consortium to support the CAPRED team in developing and implementing climate finance interventions.

The selected supplier will report to a designated CAPRED Manager and work with specific focal persons for the assigned tasks. Additional strategic guidance may be provided by the RGC counterparts and DFAT, but the supplier will bear the ultimate responsibility for the performance under the contract.

Unlocking Energy Efficiency in Cambodia's Growing Economy

As Cambodia's economy continues to expand, its demand for energy also increases.

The discussion brought together local and international experts in clean energy to explore how Cambodia can utilise innovative and sustainable business models to unlock energy efficiency.

Supporting Cambodia's Researchers to analyse Cambodia’s Economic Future

Through the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), Australia is partnering with the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) on their research initiative - "Cambodia Vision 2030: An Assessment of Cambodia's Upper-Middle-Income Target for Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Growth."

The study is exploring Cambodia's long-term economic potential and identifying key policies to drive resilient, inclusive and sustainable economic growth as the country heads toward the 2030 goal of achieving upper middle-income status.

Recently, CDRI researchers visited the The Lowy Institute in Sydney to meet Australian experts to develop baseline scenarios, a crucial step in understanding Cambodia's economic dynamics for the study.

Australia champions climate action in Cambodia.

Australia has taken strong action to decarbonise our economy and partner with countries in the region to address climate change impacts.

We are supporting Cambodia’s clean energy transition through our flagship economic development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED).

Australia was proud to be the official partner of the Cambodia Climate Change Summit 2023 (CCCS23). The summit examined the country’s climate change challenges and highlighted government and private sector commitments to climate action.

📣 Food Innovation Coordinator wanted!

CAPRED seeks for a Foods Innovation Coordinator to work on a project called the Food Innovation Fund. The fund aims to provide technical and financial support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the food sector through product development assistance, market development, and food safety standards application. The fund will work with public industry academia platforms such as the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), the National University of Battambang (NUBB), the Kampong Speu Institute of Technology (KSIT), food safety certification bodies and other service providers on market development.

Australia helps bring clean water and safety to rural Cambodian women

Did you know? One in five Cambodian women aged 15 to 49 have experienced physical violence in their lifetime.
One contributing factor is the burden placed on women for unpaid care work, including the time-consuming and often dangerous task of collecting water for their families. Traveling long distances to fetch water can expose women to violence and leave them with less time for income-generating activities or education.

Over the past seven years, Australia has worked with the Cambodian Government and private sector to bring sustainable clean water to over 625,000 women out of 1.25 million rural Cambodians across the country.

But the work continues! Australia, through its flagship development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), is partnering with the government, private sector, and development partners to close the clean water access gap.
