Australia tackles gender in energy and energy efficiency at Clean Energy Week (CEW) 2023
What is the role of women in Cambodia's clean energy sector? How can we ensure the inclusive participation of women in this sector?
Through our flagship economic development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), Australia hosted a panel discussion on addressing gender in the clean energy sector in order to tackle these questions during the CEW 2023.
The discussion highlighted the importance of women’s participation in the clean energy transition and energy efficiency as they are the primary energy users in households and their decisions on energy-saving consumption can reduce household electricity bills by up to 23%. Electricity doesn’t just light homes but also improves security at night, including for women.
