Australia’s support helps boost Cambodia’s coffee production

Cambodia’s coffee industry is growing fast, but local farmers currently supply only 10 per cent of domestic coffee demand. This creates a major opportunity for farmers in Cambodia’s highland areas, where the climate and terrain are perfect for coffee growing.

Australia is working with Cambodian coffee companies and smallholder farmers to improve coffee yields, quality and consistency. This helps many farmers from indigenous communities earn higher incomes and creates sustainable jobs.

Australia is supporting Cambodia to build a more resilient and inclusive economy – where quality economic opportunities are accessible to all and businesses thrive.

Australia–Cambodia Water Partnership strengthens public utilities 🇦🇺💧🇰🇭

Strong and resilient water utilities are essential for delivering safe, reliable water services in Cambodia.

The Cambodia–Australia Water Partnership connects water professionals and promotes demand-driven learning through technical training and exchange visits. Funded by Australia, the project is delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation.

As part of this project, representatives from the Australian Water Association visited Stung Treng Water Utility to explore ways to improve operations, strengthen climate resilience and support inclusive workforce development.

ថ្ងៃនេះ គឺជាព្រឹត្តិការណ៍ដ៏សំខាន់មួយ ជាមួយនឹងការបើកសម្ពោធដាក់ឱ្យដំណើរការកម្មវិធីហិរញ្ញប្បទានអាកាសធាតុកម្ពុជា (Cambodia Climate Finance Facility - CCFF) ដែលជាយន្តការផ្តល់កម្ចីអាកាសធាតុថ្នាក់ជាតិដំបូងគេបង្អស់នៅអាស៊ីសម្រាប់វិស័យឯកជន ក្រោមការគាំទ្រពីមូលនិធិអាកាសធាតុបៃតង (Green Climate Fund)។ ជាមួយនឹងទុនដំបូងចំនួន ១០០ លានដុល្លារអាមេរិក រួមទាំងសហហិរញ្ញប្បទានពីក្រសួងសេដ្ឋកិច្ច និងហិរញ្ញវត្ថុផងនោះ CCFF មានគោលបំណងកៀរគរទុនបន្ថែមឱ្យបានរហូតដល់ទៅបីដងនៃចំនួននេះ សម្រាប់៖

Australia backs Cambodia’s milestone climate finance launch

Australia has been working alongside Cambodia to strengthen energy security, climate resilience and sustainable growth, while advancing reliable clean energy and long-term food security.

Today marks a milestone with the launch of the Cambodia Climate Finance Facility (CCFF), Asia’s first national climate lending facility for the private sector backed by the Green Climate Fund. With US$100 million in initial capital, including co-financing from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the CCFF aims to unlock three times that amount for:

✅ renewable energy
✅ energy efficiency
✅ sustainable agriculture and forestry
✅ water infrastructure
✅ low-emission transport

Australia, together with government and private sector partners, is pleased to support Cambodia in mobilising investment for a more resilient and food-secure future.

Australia supports Cambodian farmers amid rising fertiliser costs

Global shocks continue to disrupt supply chains. The cost of imported fertiliser and livestock feed has increased by up to 30 per cent, putting pressure on Cambodian farmers.

Australia is exploring practical and high-impact solutions to respond to these disruptions and help smallholder farmers manage shocks while strengthening food security and resilience.

Through the CNai Accelerator program, Australia has supported 60 small businesses developing local solutions. A leading example is Evola, an innovative enterprise transforming food waste into high-protein animal feed and organic fertiliser using black soldier fly technology.

This approach is helping reduce reliance on costly fertiliser imports, improving soil health and cutting landfill waste.

Australia is invested in making Cambodia’s agriculture sector more productive, sustainable and resilient.
