On Friday, May 8, 2026, at about 6:36 p.m., in 500 block of Hamilton Boulevard, near Hamilton and Madison streets and the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in downtown Peoria. A bleep called Cortez White, 41, of St. Louis, Missouri, the former boyfriend of Ashley N. Stenson, 42, of Atlanta, Georgia, shot her in the head in front of police proceeding to shoot at the cop and throw his gun at him before attempting to flee and dying.

A few adolescent monster bleeps called Samari Bryant, 13YO, Corliss Sirmons, 14YO, & Javonnie Council, 16Yo, told police they were bored so they went looking for homeless people to "mess with." On July 13 police found him outside the Walgreens at 3917 N Nebraska Ave. He was found with: Cut face. Crooked nose. Traumatic brain injury. Broken ribs. Ventilator. He could not speak. Hillsborough State Attorney Suzy Lopez direct filed them as adults on 2nd degree attempted murder. Same night around 2:30 a.m. on E MLK they threw rocks at a couple. The woman took one to the back of the head.
