Hope you've all been well.All new comers,welcome to our group,feel free.

So we are encouraged to ask and help each other know about the process.

The application process is expected to begin anytime from next week.
During application,one is expected to apply for 3-4 options.
Cluster points,which will be automatically calculated to you by the system are used in the selection process.

Those successful will be placed in one of the options,so dont strictly stick to just one option.To be safe,have atleast four options.

Those who will not be successful after first revision will be required to go through second revision.Here,courses whose capacity will not have been filled are the ones which they will choose.But upon admission to campus,you can change the course,if you will not be satisfied.

Upon successful application,you will be notified the institution and the course which you have been admitted to via the portal.

Admission letters will be sent to you by the school which you have been admitted to.
If you have been selected to a school which is not of your right choice,there is an appeal period where you apply again,but at a fee.

N.B
During application,there are some charges which apply.The procedure of paying the required fee will be indicated at the portal.

What is the process of course application?

Step 1: School Application. The exercise ended on 5th of January.

Step 2 : First revision of course choices. The exercise has *NOT* commenced and is expected to begin anytime from next week. Applicants who didn't apply via their respective schools will have a chance to apply and those who had applied will have a chance to revise their course choices.

Step 3 : Second revision. This application is open to Candidates who will miss a placement for any of their Degree or Diploma choices after the First revision.

Step 4 : Placement of students. Applicants who meet the requirements but are not placed in any of their preferred choices after second revision will be offered placement in any unfilled programmes and university. Affirmative action criteria will be applied at the end of the placement process.

Step 5 : Final approval of placement. The KUCCPS Board will give final approval of the placement of applicants after the end of the process.

Step 6 : Communication of results. The results of the application [first and second revision ] will be communicated to the applicants via www.kuccps.net / SMS as soon as they are available after the selection process is completed.

Step 7 : Admission letters. The actual admission letters to the successful applicants will be sent by the individual academic institutions where the applicants will be placed.

Step 8 :
Inter-university transfer. Applicants who have already been selected for courses in universities or colleges and may wish to transfer to other institutions/courses may take advantage of this opportunity.

Panic has hit the government over the admission of 90,000 students who scored grade C+ and above in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) as reports emerged that the huge number would have serious budget implications.

Well placed sources at the Ministry of Education revealed that high-level consultations are underway with various options being weighed; among them whether a new cut off point should be set.

Also being discussed is possibility of discontinuing the directive of President Uhuru Kenyatta to place government-sponsored students to private universities.

BREAKING NEWS : CS Amina Mohamed: I have directed Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) to open its online application system. The system will be open till 23 February 2019. 2018 KCSE candidates wishing to revise their choices are urged to do so.
