. مسجد شیخ لطف‌الله یکی از شاهکارهای معماری ایرانی است که در دوره صفویه در ضلع شرقی میدان نقش جهان اصفهان ساخته شده است. ساخت این مسجد در سال 1603 آغاز شد و در سال 1619 به پایان رسید. این مسجد توسط معمار اعظم شیخ بهایی در زمان شاه عباس اول ایران ساخته شد. به توصیه آرتور آپهام پوپ، رضا شاه پهلوی مسجد را در دهه 1920 بازسازی و تعمیر کرد. از میان چهار بنای تاریخی که بر پیرامون میدان نقش جهان تسلط داشتند، این یکی اولین مورد ساخته شده بود.

Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque is one of the architectural masterpieces of
Iranian architecture that was built during the Safavid Empire, standing on the eastern side of Naghsh-i Jahan Square, Esfahan, Iran. Construction of the mosque started in 1603 and was finished in 1619. It was built by the chief architect Shaykh Bahai, during the reign of Shah Abbas I of Persia. On the advice of Arthur Upham Pope, Reza Shah Pahlavi had the mosque rebuilt and repaired in the 1920s.
