■■■■□ Drift hack explained.
The full article is here.
Drift, whose crypto project was recently hacked by North Korea, has published a partial but fascinating article on how the attack began...
(As a reminder, digital coins worth approximately $280 million were stolen in the attack.)
According to Drift's report, this was a highly calculated and sophisticated attack that lasted over a long period.
The attackers began the attack as early as last year, when at a crypto conference held in 2025, the attackers physically approached some of Drift's core developers under the guise of a trading company interested in interfacing with the Drift protocol.
The attackers continued to meet physically with those key project figures on several occasions, at various crypto conferences and in different countries around the world, while strengthening their connections with them.
According to Drift, the attackers were professional, super technical, with a proven professional history, demonstrating proficiency in understanding how the Drift protocol works.
Immediately after the first meeting, they set up a shared Telegram group, where they discussed with Drift how the connection between their trading company and the protocol would be executed, including technical aspects, etc., in conversations that lasted several months.
The connection continued during February-March 2026, including physical meetings, collaborations, and more.
On 1.4.26, when the attack was executed and the millions were stolen, the Telegram group was disabled and all communication with that "trading company" disappeared.
According to Drift, there were three vectors through which the attackers entered:
1. Malicious code in a repo that was transferred to the Drift team, and one of Drift's developers cloned it.
2. A Wallet app that one of Drift's developers was asked to download via Test Flight to test the product of the "trading company."
3. A vulnerability in Vscode and Cursor that allows the execution of malicious code simply by opening a file or project...

■■■□□ 🇨🇳 ⚡️ — A hacker claims to have breached a Chinese state-run supercomputer and stolen more than 10 petabytes of sensitive data, including military and aerospace research, in what could be one of the largest data thefts in China’s history, CNN reports.
➡️ Experts who reviewed samples say the leak appears credible and was likely extracted over months through a security gap.
➡️ The data is believed to come from the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin and may involve information linked to major defense and research institutions, with the hacker now attempting to sell it online.

■■■■□ Handala Strikes Back: Steel Giants Foulath and SULB Crippled in Retaliation Cyberattack on Bahrain.
As started by the group verbatim:
As started by the group verbatim:
In the wake of the organized crimes and targeted attacks on the steel factories of the Resistance Axis last week, Handala once again proves that any assault on the Resistance will be met with a severe and unforgettable response.
In a wide-scale and unprecedented cyber operation, the two unrivaled steel giants of the region, Foulath and SULB, located in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, were completely compromised and forced out of operational status.
These two factories, with an annual turnover exceeding $5 billion, a yearly production capacity of 2 million tons of steel, and a workforce of over 2,000 specialists, form the backbone of the Gulf’s economic and industrial infrastructure. Today, these pillars have been brought to their knees by the will of the Resistance, reaffirming that no corner of the enemy’s geography is beyond Handala’s decisive reach.
Never forget, Handala sees everything.
Our shadows hover over your command rooms and decision-making centers, recording every act of betrayal and crime. The fire of our revenge will blaze, sooner or later. No one knows when the moment of collapse for your illusion of security will come.
This cyber operation is both a retaliation for the blood of Handala’s martyred hackers during the Ramadan War and a firm response to the recent crimes against the people of South Lebanon.
We warn all Epsteinist leaders in the region:
This strike is only the beginning of a wave of retribution and demonstrates that Handala’s hand remains on the trigger; no act of treachery will go unanswered, and the age of false security is over.
Handala, the voice of the oppressed and the symbol of justice, will continue on its powerful path.
Today, the steel of the enemy has been broken; tomorrow, it will be the turn of the entire system of corruption and oppression.
