The U.S. is supporting Ghana’s humanitarian mission to Jamaica by providing a U.S. Air Force C-17 airlift, reflecting strong U.S.–Ghana partnership and ongoing relief efforts following Hurricane Melissa.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) will today, 18th December, 2025, begin a nationwide compliance exercise aimed at ensuring that all vehicles on Ghana’s roads are fitted with functional, easily accessible, and GNFS-certified portable fire extinguishers.

The exercise will be led by the GNFS Fire Safety Compliance Taskforce, in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service.
