Meta "Name Tag" Glasses (Orwellian Surveillance)
Meta is actively exploring the integration of facial recognition technology into its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, a feature internally referred to as "Name Tag," designed to identify individuals in real-time.
The glasses can be used to quickly identify strangers and access sensitive details, such as home addresses, phone number, social media matching, and any mention of the person online.
Footage captured by the user glasses is reviewed by contractors to train Meta's AI models.
Current search looks like it's impossible for a bystander to 'opt-out', but you can make your social media profiles "private", and maybe search for third party database opt-outs.
