Jim Thorpe represented the United States in track and field at the 1912 Olympics. The morning before the competition, his shoes were stolen. Fortunately, Jim found two shoes in a garbage can.

One of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Jim won two gold medals that day.
