Fuck The Lawful Access to Encrypted Data Act!!
The US government wants to bend you over again, while we're distracted with covid-19 and civil unrest a new bill killing end-to-end encryption is to be voted on, without your action it could very well pass, here's what you can do about it. If you're a US citizen contact your senators and tell them to vote NO on the Lawful Access to Encrypted Data Act!!

This law would establish a precedent for other countries to follow and for further legislation to be passed, such as requiring encrypted data to be unencrypted on demand (like in Australia), or outlawing encryption outright. The EFF has already spoken out about this and it's even worse than the EARN IT Act from three months ago. For these reasons, even non-Americans should be concerned. It does nothing to stop criminals as it's supporters suggest, all this bill does is shit on the privacy of law abiding citizens who use American software. There are obvious security concerns with having a built-in backdoors and this bill would set further precedent that encryption and privacy are bad/illegal ushering in a new age in which privacy should no longer be expected.
Privacy is necessary for an open society in the electronic age. Privacy is not secrecy. A private matter is something one doesn't want the whole world to know, but a secret matter is something one doesn't want anybody to know. Privacy is the power to selectively reveal oneself to the world. (thanks Eric)
This bill takes away your right to privacy, everyone needs to act now, make your voice heard!
