PALLET HOUSE - #1400challenge

Sawhorse presents Pallet House, a shelter that can be quickly built in a moment of need for $1400. Faster to build than a tiny home and more durable than a tent, Pallet House is a protest camp dwelling, shelter on land, or a garden shed 🛠🌹🛠

La Commune 1871

https://cwc.im/LaCommune1871

For the 150-year anniversary of the revolutionary Paris Commune, we revisit the experimental film Peter Watkins made summoning the spirit of the Commune—a bold challenge to the role of media and an example of historical memory as a weapon.

We've embedded the film here as well, in order to keep it widely available. We invite you to watch and discuss it, to reflect on the events of the real Paris Commune, and to participate fiercely and bravely in the struggles of our own time.

"Kolkata’s wetlands are a “low-cost folk technology” 14 treating the majority of the sewage of a city with a population the size of New York. This is made possible through the development of a vast human-fish-plant ecosystem, a city-scale wastewater treatment plant that emerged through the creativity, ecological knowledge, and direction of local farming communities."

“Against the rituals and institutions of real democracy, it’s elections and negotiations, the movements of revolt have pushed the anonymous community of the streets to the forefront. A specter haunts the empty parliament. When people are in the street, occupying squares, the government does not govern. As Tari put forward: “the revolutionary problem is thus to escape this power of being captured into a form of government”. Never enter into institutional structures but reject them.”

"The commune: the only fully meaningful term able to confederate all revolts, from one side of the world to another."

The city of Atlanta and the Atlanta police foundation are planning on bulldozing hundreds of acres of forest at the old Atlanta prison farm in order to build a new police training facility. The plans even include a mock city for police to practice in. A new initiative is forming to stop this.

Defend the forest, no cop city.
