If you can't get a makeshift tourniquet on tight enough, it can actually be worse due to cutting off venous return but not arterial flow. This essentially means the tourniquet is acting as a one-way valve, so the only place the blood can go is out of the wound.

Also, if you don't have an Israeli bandage/emergency compression bandage, the bandage was actually developed to replace the old method they used, which was "put a rock on top of the bandage" (the idea being 'include the rock/equivalent in the kit'). I'm not kidding. Something heavy can apply pressure just as well.

hypothetically, you wanna be very very careful with caltrops or spike strips, so that bystanders arent running them over after the demo has moved on. in a story i'm writing, they only throw the devices directly under enemy tires or along their line of advancement. i wouldnt recommend setting them up around a perimeter bc there's too many variables to account for in that purely hypothetical scenario
