Hey folks, here’s a save the date reminder for Saturday November 25th!
UNITE TO SURVIVE: The action is still in its planning stages, but I can tell you the following: It will be an XR community outreach event in central Brighton, on the Saturday afternoon, and there will be drumming and music and talks.
This is our big action as a band for November. We need as many drummers as possible to make an impact, so please get it in the diary! 🥁✊

Hey folks, here are some approximate drumming times for Unite to Survive, Saturday November 25th!
11:00am: Meet at Jubilee Square. Maybe a little warm-up drum in place if we have time, to get everyone going for the day.
11.30am: March starts. We will drum while marching to HSBC and/or Barclays, and drum in place outside one or both banks (TBC).
13:00: Return to Jubilee Square. More drumming in place to wrap-up the march and hype up the speakers.
13:15: Schedule of Speakers begins.
There may be more drumming and skill-sharing with newbies on an ad-hoc basis throughout the afternoon, so please do plan to be around for the full day if you can - it’s a great opportunity for recruiting new band members and doing some outreach!

Drumming: Yes! 🥁
Location: New Road
Time: Meet at 5pm, set off at 5.30 sharp. Please be there on time so that we don’t make life difficult for the event organisers.
What’s happening: We’ll march through town with the Burning the Clocks procession, to mark the shortest day of the year. This is a celebratory community event, and our aim is to support the community and let people know we’re an approachable group for people who want to start getting involved with climate activism.
Thursday 21st December: XR Brighton Drummers winter solstice party 🎉
Drumming: No 🤫
Time: TBC (after Burning the Clocks)
Location: TBC
What’s happening: A nice end-of-year party! More details to follow, save the date.

What's happening: Drumming in place.
Why? Surfers against Sewage and Extinction Rebellion are holding a joint action to protest ocean sewage dumping.
14:00pm - 16:00pm: Call on the Great Escape Festival to drop Barclays Bank sponsorship 💰
Location: Outside Jurys Inn Hotel, Brighton Seafront
What's happening: Drumming in place. Police liaison TBC (I'll update as soon as I hear).
Why?: XRBD are organising this action in solidarity with the many bands who have dropped out of the festival, to highlight Barclays' tie to the arms industry and fossil fuel industries.
