In the early stages of the indirect talks on the nuclear issue, Iran adopted a calculated strategy designed to create the impression among the Americans that there was a real and solid basis for negotiations.
By creating the illusion of progress and a genuine desire to reach an agreement, Iran succeeded in getting the American negotiating team, led by Witkoff, to indulge in the diplomatic option and invest trust and resources in it - beyond what the reality on the ground justified.
After the Iranians recognized that the American side was captive to this perception, they began to slow down the pace of the talks gradually but systematically. Meetings that were initially held weekly are being postponed to once every two weeks, and later perhaps to three weeks or more - a trend that indicates an attempt to buy time, dull the diplomatic dynamic, and avoid real progress.
Despite the clear signs that this was a time-wasting tactic, President Trump - who stated in the first week of the talks that "one meeting a week is a long time" - also fell, in effect, into the same trap.
The official reason given for postponing the latest round of talks - "logistical difficulties," as mediator Oman claimed - seems to be a purely technical explanation, while behind it lies a well-thought-out strategic move.

It's beginning to look like we are going to have to take care of the nuclear issue with Iran all on our own.
We will not be negotiating with the genocidal terror regime. Our actions will speak for themselves.
Yes, the terror regime will retalliate with indiscriminate salvos of ballistic missiles and drones, which target the Arabs in the area just as much as they target the Jews.
We will shoot down %99 of them and get the job done.
