I have always been interested in watching various performances on the internet, youtube, television, and so on because it acts as the best source of entertainment for me. However, I would like to talk about Live performance at my College, which I watched recently. In that group, eight girls involved who performed a classic music and traditional dance. There were other competitors available who competed with them. The performance of the music and dance performed by my college girl. Never before I watched that type of performance because It was the brilliant performance as compare to others. When the performance was completed, all people started clapping for those girls. My college last month organized a youth festival. The other college also invited to participate in different activities. The chief gust also invited who announced the winner from each event. I felt proud of my college girls who performed that music and dance. It was an exciting performance in contrast to others. After being completed all performance, chief guests announced the winners from each activity. I felt jubilant when my college girls team got the first position in the music and dance performance. We all motivated those girls. That was a performance which I watched at my college function, and that was a fabulous performance as compare to others.

◼️Describe one of your best friends

πŸ”»You should say:

πŸ”°Who this person is
πŸ”°How long you have known him or her
πŸ”°How you first met
πŸ”°what you do together and explain why you think this person is a good friend

When it comes to talking about my friends, I'd like to talk about Sara. She is my best friend. We are the same age and she is only two days older than me. We studied in the same school, so we had many opportunities to communicate with each other. She is a good looking and outgoing person. We have many of the same hobbies. We both like reading books and watching films, then we exchange our own opinions about the books and films. We had many fun times together. She is good at cooking. Every time I went to her home, she would cook many tasty dishes for me. She likes to research all kinds of cookbooks and cook programs, while I don't like to cook at all. She is patient to play with kids and help them. She takes part in a charity organization, she regularly goes to the disabled children school to read all kinds of fairy tale books to children. I feel proud of her. Although both of us are pretty busy with our jobs, we still meet each other once in a while. Whenever l am in trouble or in hardship, she is always there with a helping hand and encouraging words. I do appreciate having this friend.

10 WORDS TO AVOID IN IELTS

1. MORE AND MORE
I have seen many essays where candidates started their essays by using this expression. They often wrote: β€˜More and more people …’ which is not advisable.
Instead simply use β€œmore” once – β€˜More people …’

2. LITERALLY
This word is often used to mean β€œexactly” or β€œprecisely” but you had better not use it in your writing as it is not a formal word.

3. A COUPLE OF
β€œSeveral” is much acceptable in essays rather β€œa couple of”, therefore you are expected to avoid it too.

4. KIND OF / SORT OF
These ones can be used in IELTS speaking part, while in writing you are advised to use β€œsomewhat” or β€œto some degree”.
For example: The solution for this weighty problem is somewhat significant / significant to some degree.

5. YOU
Sometimes candidates tend to use β€œyou” in their essays either intentionally or unintentionally which is not appropriate. Instead of this, it is acceptable to use β€œone”.

6. KIDS
The word β€œkids” is rather informal word, so you should not use it in your essays as essay is to have quite academic style. However, β€œchildren” is a right word to use.

7. A LOT OF / LOTS OF
Even though these words have already become a common usage for us, they should be replaced by β€œmuch / many” when it comes to IELTS writing section.

8. SO / VERY
These are quite informal too and it is better to change them with β€œextremely” when it is appropriate. Say β€œextremely important” not β€œso / very important”.

9. SO ON / ET CETERA (ETC.)
Do not finish your statement when you are presenting points or giving examples with these two ones. Just end up with some examples when it is needed.
Do not say: It can cause several problems for health, mentality and so on.
Say: It can cause several problems for health and mentality.
10. IN A NUTSHELL
I pretty often see essays in which "in a nutshell" is used to open a conclusion part. But some IELTS experts disapprove using this one as it is rather informal. For conclusion using "to conclude / in conclusion" is an original way, so let us be original.
