The Trump administration (Acting DHS Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli) signed an 8 year contract with the ICE union on the last day of Trump's presidency, requiring the blessing of the union to enact policy changes. This allows the union to veto certain immigration policies from the Biden administration.

DHS leaders are given until Feb. 17 to disapprove the agreement. The contract will go into effect if no further action is taken by the DHS.

A summary of the team's findings will be presented at a press conference before leaving China on Wednesday.
