A California man has pleaded guilty to harassing the family of Nancy Guthrie during the investigation into her disappearance. Derrick Callella admitted to repeatedly contacting the family and asking about a bitcoin transfer despite knowing an earlier ransom demand had already been made.

Callella also admitted his messages were intended to harass the family and obtain information about the investigation. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 10 and faces up to two years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and one year of supervised release.
