NEW: House Democrats have introduced a bill to give Puerto Rico statehood (H.R. 1522), which would give Democrats two more Senate seats and multiple House seats -Politico

Democrats are also interested in granting D.C. statehood

However, these bills are unlikely to pass as they would require 60 votes in the Senate (unless Democrats end the filibuster)
