Cole has had a total of 5 starts since he returned off the injured list in late June. He’s has a few blemishes since returning, but that’s to be expected. 2 of his last 3 starts have been his best starts of the season, most notably his last start, pitching 6 innings allowing just 1 run to a high powered Baltimore offence. He seems to be shaping back into his “Garrit Cole” like form. The additional rest due to the all star break is likely to help Cole in this start. Extra rest when coming off a long term injury is never a bad thing for a pitcher.
This Rays lineup has 193 at-bats against Cole, they’re batting a combined .207 against him, well below league average.

𝟏𝟑-𝟎 𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐒𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘:
Garrit Cole is 13-0 since October 2022 when he’s a favorite of -165 or higher and the game total is below 11.

Eflin has some drastic home/road splits this season. When pitching at home in pitcher friendly Tropicana Field, his ERA is 2.25, but when on the road, that ERA balloons to 5.37. Eflin also has a significant sample size of at-bats VS this Yankees lineup. The Yankees are batting a combined .256 against Eflin across 129 at-bats. (Juan Soto has CRUSHED him, Soto HR isn’t a bad sprinkle bet) Eflin is a righty, the Yankees are much better against righty’s this season, hitting .251 against them compared to .235 against lefty’s.

The Yankees limped into the all-star break, they should be 110% motivated to not let that slump carry over into the 2nd half of the season, as they’re now just a few games up on Baltimore, Boston and Tampa Bay in the division.

Today a unique opportunity presented itself. We laid the most juice we’ve laid in 3+ months (-200).
It’s a common misconception that you can ONLY profit with sports betting if you’re playing (-110) odds or better. That statement couldn’t be farther from the truth.

If you find line value, but haven’t handicapped the game & accounted for situational factors, hitter VS pitcher matchups, underlying metrics, etc… the play is meaningless is our eyes.

This time of year we typically have 1-2 plays per day because we are EXTREMELY SELECTIVE, which directly correlates with the reason we’re CONSISTENTLY ON A 80%+ RUN OR BETTER.
Anyone telling you they have “value” in 10+ games per day is an action junkie. Anyone telling you they have an “algorithm” that spits out plays is a scammer. Handicapping is a long, gruelling process, and finding plays that hit at a clip that WE’RE satisfied with is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.

Today the Cubs visit Kansas City to kick off a 3 game weekend series against the Royals. We’re backing the Royals on the moneyline tonight and here’s why.

Let’s begin with the starting pitching matchup:

Royals start right hander Brady Singer. Singer has been in the best form of his season over his last 6 starts. Aside from one blemish VS the Red Sox where he allowed 4 runs over 2.2 innings, his other 5 most recent starts he’s pitched a combined 31 innings surrendering just 4 total runs over that timeframe.
Tonight he faces an ice cold Cubs lineup that is averaging a measly 1.5 runs per game over their last 6, and has failed to score more than 3 runs in any of those contests. The Cubs have been much worse against right handed pitchers (which Singer is) batting just .230 on the season, and only have a combined 19 plate appearances against him. They are very unfamiliar with his pitch mix.

Opposing Singer will be Chicago’s starter Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks has had a season from Hell. With an ERA just under 7, Hendricks has been shelled all season long. He’s pitched even worse on the road this season with an ERA over 7. This royals team has a combined 67 at bats VS Hendricks and have raked him for a .343 average.
Unlike the Cubs who are averaging 1.5 runs over their last 6 games, the Royals are averaging a whopping 5.8 runs per game since the all star break, this doesn’t bode well for Hendricks.

TREND ALERT 🚨
Brady Singer has been a BEAST when pitching at home, Singer and the Royals are 15-3 when Singer is pitching at home.

News broke this week that the Cubs will likely be sellers at the trade deadline, that’s super deflating for a team. Having the head office give up on you basically means you’re playing out the rest of the season with no playoff aspirations. On the other hand the Royals are in the thick of a playoff race holding onto the final wild card spot by a 2 game lead.

The motivational and analytical edge is with the Royals today, therefore Kansas City Royals ML at a reasonable -150 price is an official play today.
