--> Scientists at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU), Pusa, have achieved a breakthrough by successfully cultivating and harvesting avocados (Persea americana) in Bihar's alluvial plains under the ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Fruits. This challenges the long-held belief that this high-value commercial fruit can only thrive in sub-montane and hill regions.

​--> To overcome the challenge of avocado flowering behavior (dichogamy), researchers interplanted Arka Supreme (Type A) with Arka Ravi (Type B) cultivars to enable effective cross-pollination.
