Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the Department of Military Medicine at Command Hospital (Central Command), Lucknow.
Established under the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army), it is India’s first dedicated academic and operational department focused exclusively on military medicine. The Department aims to enhance combat medical readiness, advance research, develop indigenous doctrines, create specialised expertise and promote technology-driven preventive healthcare to strengthen combat readiness.
