Magnifica Humanitas(Latin: “Magnificent Humanity”) is Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical/manifesto focused on ethical regulation of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

• The title was inspired by the 1891 encyclical of Pope Leo XIII issued during the Industrial Revolution - linking AI revolution with past industrial-era social reforms.

It calls for “disarming AI”, especially opposing:
– Lethal Autonomous Weapons (LAWs)
– Mass surveillance through AI
– AI-driven exploitation and digital slavery

The manifesto states:
– “No algorithm can make war morally acceptable.”

– Plato(Greek philosopher)—>represents philosophy, ethics, and reason.
– Beethoven’s 9th Symphony--> symbolizes universal human unity and brotherhood (“Ode to Joy”).
– J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings”—>warns against unchecked power and domination through powerful tools/objects, analogous to uncontrolled AI.
