Bihar Vidyapeeth

• Bihar Vidyapeeth was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi on 6 February 1921 during the Non-Cooperation Movement.

• It was established in Patna as part of the movement for national education against British-controlled institutions.

• Mazharul Haq became its first Chancellor, while Brajkishore Prasad served as Vice-Chancellor.

• The institution was started with the initiative of Dr. Rajendra Prasad; land was donated by Mazharul Haq.

• Its first campus was located on Patna–Gaya Road (present-day Buddha Marg, Patna).

Bihar Agriculture Department is expanding Climate-Resilient Agriculture (CRA) practices to 190 additional villages across all 38 districts of Bihar.

• CRA pilot villages recorded around 20% rise in soil organic matter and nitrogen content over the last five years; phosphorus and potassium increased by about 10%.

• Soil pH in CRA areas shifted towards a more balanced range, improving soil health.

• Biochar is a carbon-rich material produced from biomass and mixed into soil to improve fertility and moisture retention.

• Agni-5 Mk2, also called “Divyastra”, is an advanced MIRV-capable version of Agni-5.
• MIRV technology allows a single ballistic missile to carry multiple nuclear warheads, each capable of striking different targets independently.
• Only a few countries - the US, Russia, China, France and the UK - possess operational MIRV capability.
