The government notifies 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, which will come into force from 1st May.

The objective of the rules is to regulate online gaming and protect citizens, safeguard the financial system, enable coordinated enforcement, and uphold user rights.

UK Parliament passes the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, banning cigarette sales to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009, aiming to create a smoke-free generation.

The law also strengthens the regulation of vaping in public spaces. Once enacted, it will impose a lifetime ban on cigarette purchases for those aged 17 or younger and will come into effect after royal assent.
