Electoral Reforms and Initiatives by Election Commission of India[Bihar SLA Election]
β’ The ECI has emphasized training of Booth Level Agents, Officers, and Police to strengthen electoral rolls and law-and-order preparedness.
β’ Special intensive revision of electoral rolls has been undertaken in Bihar to ensure accuracy, along with faster EPIC delivery and standardized Photo ID cards for BLOs.
β’ Voter facilitation has been enhanced through mobile deposit counters, clearer Voter Information Slips, and polling station limits (1,200 voters) to reduce crowding.
β’ Technology has been leveraged via ECINet App, 100% webcasting of polling stations, and digital index cards to improve transparency and real-time accessibility of data.
β’ Electoral process has been further strengthened by mandatory VVPAT counts in mismatches, revised EVM ballot guidelines with candidate photos, and streamlined counting of postal ballots.
