Gujarat to provide rented accommodation to labourers for ₹5/day

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel has launched the 'Shramik Basera' scheme to provide temporary accommodation to construction workers at a nominal rate of ₹5 per day.

Chhattisgarh-based Coal India subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited's (SECL):- Gevra and Kusmunda coal mines have secured the 2nd and 4th spot in the list of the world's 10 largest coal mines released by WorldAtlas.com.

Country's first scientific deep drilling mission – Koyna, Maharashtra

✅Geophysics Research Laboratory (BGRL), Maharashtra, an institute under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, has been authorized to execute India's only scientific deep-drilling programme.

✅Under BGRL, the plan is to drill the earth's crust to a depth of 6 km and conduct scientific observations and analysis to help expand the understanding of reservoir-triggered earthquakes in the active fault zone in the Koyna-Warna region of Maharashtra.

✅Since the closure of Shivaji Sagar Lake or Koyna Dam in 1962, there have been frequent and frequent earthquakes in the region. The expected temperature at 6 km can be 110-130 °C.

✅Countries like the U.S., Russia, and Germany conducted such scientific projects in the 1990s. Recently, there were reports of China launching its own deep-drilling mission in 2023.
