✅Gravitational waves are the space-time ripples created by massive accelerating objects in such a way that 'waves' of undulating space-time propagate in all directions from the source.

✅First discovered by Albert Einstien.

✅LIGO consists of two identical detectors at Hanford ( LIGO Hanford Observatory) and Livingston (LIGO Livingston Observatory), separated by 3000 km.
These detectors work in unison as a single laboratory but can make individual detections.

✅IARI has developed Pusa-2090, an improved version derived from a cross between Pusa-44 and CB-501, an early-maturing Japonica rice line.

✅It matures in a shorter duration of 120-125 days while maintaining comparable yields, addressing the core issue of stubble burning.

✅It combines the high yield attributes of Pusa-44 with the quicker maturation cycle of CB-501, making it a promising alternative.

‼️Read in context with other measures to control stubble burning.

✅It is planned under NASA’s Heliophysics Explorers Programme.
✅ This mission will study the links between how waves in the lower layers of the atmosphere impact the upper atmosphere and, thus, space weather.

✅It will measure the airglow at mesopause (about 85 to 87 km above the Earth’s surface), where the atmospheric temperatures dip to minus 100 degrees Celsius.

✅NASA in collaboration with the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is seeking a nuclear propulsion system that could potentially cut down the travel time to Mars by half.

✅Projects like Orion, Rover, and NERVA explored nuclear-powered propulsion systems, although these initiatives were not fully realized.
