In the context of the Lok Sabha elections in India, a postal ballot is a method that allows eligible voters to cast their votes by mail rather than in person at a polling station. For the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the postal ballot is typically used by:

1. Service Voters: Members of the armed forces, paramilitary forces, and government employees serving abroad.

2. Voters on Election Duty: Election officials and security personnel who are assigned duties at polling stations other than where they are registered to vote.

3. Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities: Voters who are above a certain age ( 85 years and above) and those with disabilities, allowing them easier access to voting without the need to travel to a polling station.

4. COVID-19 Positive Patients:

The total food grain production is estimated at 3288.52 LMT, which is 211.00 LMT more than the average food grain production of the last 5 years. Total rice production in 2022-23 is estimated at 1367.00 LMT as compared to 1357.55 LMT, showing an increase of 9.45 LMT. Wheat production is estimated at 1129.25 LMT, which is 23.71 LMT more than last year's wheat production.
