Market towns role-
1. help in establishing backwards and farward linkage.
2. Transport nodes. Surplus - deficit transfer.
3. Provides basic logistics and infrastructure. Like cold storage.
4. Whole sale trade at local level. Need of rural hinterland-Intra regional trade.
5. Facilitation center for government intervention.

Not sure about exact answers.. But few points should come
