من از این ماجرا هم جان سالم به در می‌برم. زندگی می‌کنم. اما در من حفره‌ای هست که هرگز پُر نمی‌شود. شاید برای همین است که مردم از پیری می‌میرند. شاید اگر این‌قدر تمام‌وکمال عاشق نمی‌شدیم، می‌توانستیم تا ابد زندگی کنیم. اما عاشق می‌شویم و همان موقع که پیری می‌آید، پُر از حفره شده‌ایم. آن‌قدر پُر که دیگر نفسمان در نمی‌آید. آن‌قدر حفره‌ها زیاد است که دیگر درونمان مال خودمان نیست. و ما فقط فضایی بزرگ و توخالی شده‌ایم که منتظر است تا با تاریکی و سیاهی پر شود. منتظر است تا آزاد شود.
