Heterocyclic Surfactants and their applications in Cosmetics
Summary:
Heterocyclic Surfactants constitute a major percentage of surfactants which is due to the presence of heteroatoms in the cyclic or acyclic molecules. In many heterocyclic molecules, these heteroatoms create resonance and expand the charge all over the molecules and also increase their properties as a potential candidates in many cosmetic applications. The positive charge on the hydrophilic moiety enables them to be frequently exploited in cosmetics as hair conditioners, fairness creams, lipsticks, and other commercial beauty products. The current issue is focused on the advanced topics of synthesis, properties, and applications of heterocyclic surfactants for their commercial applications. This will include imidazolinium, thiadiazoles, acridines, piperazine-based surfactants, and their derivatives.
