The Sustainable Power and Energy Lab (SPEL) at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Connecticut invites applications for multiple Ph.D. positions, and at least three Postdoctoral Research Associate positions starting in early September 2024. These positions are central to the technical leadership and advancement of the TRANSFORMATIVE project, that was recently awarded by the Department of Energy. The selected candidates will be working on the project, with a focus on developing advanced time-series optimization methodologies for power system optimization and resilience, specifically enhancing T&D coordination and integrating VRE/DER capabilities into grid operation.

Position Details:

The prospective student is expected to work in one of the following research areas (or a combination of them):
- Control of autonomous vehicles (aerial and terrestrial)
- Cyber-security and resilience of cyber-physical systems 
 
The student will have the unique opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle lab, equipped with Quanser Qcars, Quanser Qbot platform, Quanser Qdrone, and a set of Vicon cameras. Qualifications:

Expertise in control theory, autonomous vehicles, and cyber-security.
