We make promises of forever, to make things work through impossible situations, to love and hold, to always stay beside each other. You may not mean your words but you say them. How many people have you made those promises to? How many have you told “I love you.” in the past year? How many promises have you broken? How many forevers have you walked away from? How many forevers have walked away from you? Why do we think everything we convince ourselves to feel is real? That we can work through impossible situations. That somehow we can make things work by setting parts of ourselves aside?
