One thing that is not making a whole lot sense to me regarding the current frontline changes in Ukraine is the fact that, for the past few months, we have been hearing following stuff from various OSINTers or media houses:

- Drones saturate the skies in certain places, actively hunting for any moving soul or vehicle.

- Small teams of 3-4 men are send to a location, they consolidate if they survive, wait for more teams to arrive then launch an assault

- Russians had been recruiting far more men per month than Ukraine's forced mobilization and relatively suffered fewer casualties.
Ukrainians making advances along one sector of the front can still be explained, but what we are witnessing is that almost along the entire contact line, they are leading counter attacks (Lyman, Sumy, Donbass, Zaporizhya, Dnipro-Donbass border) and Russians are on the retreat despite certain reports suggesting they had achieved drone numbers on par with Ukrainians.

Perhaps the Russian command is willingly retreating from certain sections. But I thought usage of drones would have greatly stopped Ukrainians.

Retreating from areas for which you fought for like over a year or more only to get pushed back in under 6 months by the enemy (Lyman especially) has a negative effect on the morale of the soldiers deployed in that position.

Also there is a lot of fog of war, like very little drone footage from these areas exist. Russians would be willing to post footage of them inflicting damage on advancing Ukrainians, but we don't see the case here that much. Another report was suggesting that Russia has been launching way more glide bombs onto Ukrainian positions.

Overall 2026 is an opposite of the previous year.
By comparison, in 2023, Russian advances were relatively small but Ukrainian 'summer offensive' was a spectacular failure and they had taken probably less land these current counter attacks.
In 2024 the Ukrainians only got some net gain in Kursk but were suffering setbacks in most of the areas.
In 2025, the Ukrainians were hardly doing major counterattacks
But come to 2026, they are doing it across the frontline.

I'll give you a good reason with a historical parallel.

Its 1918 and its WW1, the Entente (France,Britain and US etc) is the most powerful of the two in terms of firepower and resource numbers. However Imperial Germany did have a complex of what they called elite 'stormtroopers' this gave the appearance of a powerful and devastating shock army movement. Which can collapse lines in weeks if not days. However one small difference is the time scale this is a much longer painful grind of attrition because although one degree is gone the other major factors like drones remain unlike WW1 where the only major factor was entrenchment. With this it will likely end this way with a sudden collapse of AFU and its morale alongside its own internal instability aswell as its allies finally giving up its support knowing its a waste of money and is futile.

Approximate flight routes of the missiles used in tonight's large-scale, combined Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine.

The primary target was energy infrastructure, with power plants and electrical substations being hit across Kyiv and Kharkiv Oblasts.

The following missiles were used:

~16 Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Bryansk and Belgorod Oblasts.

~6 RM-48U modified S-400 ballistic missiles launched from Bryansk Oblast.

~6 Oniks-M supersonic cruise missiles launched from Kursk Oblast.

~4 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles launched from Rostov and Kursk Oblasts.

~32 missiles in total.

Additionally, another 2-4 Tornado-S rockets were launched from Belgorod Oblast.

As of the time of writing, I can only confirm the interception of approximately 2 Oniks-M supersonic cruise missiles near Kyiv. It's likely that the other 30 missiles impacted their targets.

Targets hit include the CHP-4, CHP-5, and CHP-6 Combined Heat and Power Plants in Kyiv; the TEC-5 and Zmiivska Thermal Power Plants in Kharkiv Oblast; the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv Oblast; and the "Kyivska" 750 kV electrical substation in Kyiv Oblast. It's also likely that the Darnytsia Locomotive Depot in Kyiv was hit by RM-48U S-400s again.
Over 50 gerans are over Ukraine

🇷🇺⚠️🇺🇦 Russia is currently trying to maximise its exploitation of the Starlink satellite issues Ukraine is currently suffering. Although the outages and slowdowns in logisitcs through these are unknown whether to be temporary or permanent. Russia has launched many dozens of its Geran-2/4/5s across all of Ukraine to maximise its damage before a restoration maybe reached

It seems the system shut offs are actually real and not circuit or server issues. - Not completely off mostly heavily restricted or constrained both in speed and quantity
Restrictions on speed are being loosened already but not back to full speed capacity it seems yet. Musk couldnt seem to take the international criticism from other leaders hence hes backed down partially

It has come to my attention all these reports are just Ukrainian information alone. Musk or Trump have not said anything themselves about a restriction or shut off let alone a restoration of speeds for that manner. Some are already arguing this maybe a Ukrainian PR stunt to gain more sympathy. Such claims will remain unconfirmed and will wait for more information
