=======================
The Bahir Dar Institute of Technology Career Development Center (BiT-CDC) held the closing ceremony of the Summer 2026 Full Stack Development Training Program today. The two-month training program was delivered in collaboration with TECHMOVA Software Engineering and provided practical full-stack development skills to trainees, most of whom came from outside the university.
The ceremony was officially opened by Dr. Amare Kassew, Deputy Scientific Director for Academic Affairs at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology. In his remarks, Dr. Amare emphasized the importance of creating opportunities that equip students, graduates, and members of the wider community with practical and relevant skills for the rapidly changing labor market. He highlighted the role of BiT-CDC and the Institute in advancing the capabilities of young people through industry-oriented training, technology, innovation, and career development initiatives. He further underlined the importance of strengthening the connection between academic institutions, industry, and the community to prepare people for emerging opportunities and contribute to technological and socioeconomic development.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the project showcase by the trainees. Participants presented software projects developed during the training, demonstrating the practical knowledge and skills they acquired throughout the two-month program. The project presentations also provided an opportunity for the trainees to demonstrate their creativity, teamwork, and ability to apply full-stack development concepts to practical problems.
Mr. Yonas Yayeh, CEO and Co-founder of TECHMOVA Software Engineering, presented an overview of the training process and its implementation. He reflected on the trainees' progress throughout the program, highlighting their journey from learning fundamental concepts to developing and presenting functional software projects. He emphasized the importance of continuous practice, problem-solving, teamwork, and commitment to lifelong learning for anyone seeking to build a career in the technology sector.
The ceremony also featured an experience-sharing and motivational message from Mr. Assefa Misganaw, a software developer who has contributed to the development of the Student Information Management System (SIMS) and several other software systems. Drawing on his professional experience, Mr. Assefa encouraged the trainees to view the completion of the training as the beginning of their professional journey. He stressed the importance of continuously upgrading their technical skills, developing solutions to real-world problems, and remaining adaptable in the rapidly evolving technology industry. His message also encouraged the trainees to turn the knowledge gained through the program into practical projects, professional opportunities, and meaningful contributions to society.
As part of the ceremony, certificates of recognition were presented to TECHMOVA Software Engineering, the trainees, trainers, and mentors in recognition of their valuable contributions, commitment, and participation in the successful implementation of the program.
The ceremony was attended by university officials, trainers, mentors, trainees, invited guests, and the families of the trainees. The presence of family members added a special dimension to the occasion as the trainees celebrated their achievement and showcased the skills they had developed through the program.
The initiative reflects the commitment of BiT-CDC to providing practical, industry-relevant training opportunities and strengthening the employability and career readiness of students, graduates, and members of the wider community.
