Women in STEAM Ethiopia Digital Hackathon Officially Kicks Off at BiT–Bahir Dar University

Bahir Dar institute of Technology-Bahir Dar University Business incubation and Techno-Entrepreneurship center in collaboration with Women in STEAM Ethiopia and Alyah software plc have officially kickoff the Women in STEAM Ethiopia Digital Hackathon.
The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Muluken Zegeye, the Deputy Scientific Director for Research and Technology Transfer at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology. In his opening remarks, Dr. Muluken encouraged all participants to delve deep into real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions with the potential to make a global impact. His commitment to supporting these innovators is clear; he assured them that the most promising ideas will receive further incubation and mentorship at BiTec.
This 24-hour hackathon, dubbed WISECODERS, promises to be a dynamic platform where brilliant minds will converge, bold ideas will flourish, and unstoppable energy will drive innovation. We are excited to see the creativity and ingenuity that will emerge from this event!

The program brought together highly motivated student participants who demonstrated strong analytical ability, teamwork, and perseverance while addressing a diverse set of cybersecurity challenges. The competition provided a rigorous and engaging platform for the application of theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, while fostering collaboration and critical thinking.
The Institute extends its appreciation to @CTFZone (https://t.me/CTFZone), @Natnael (https://t.me/Natnael) Sendeku (Ambassador of CTF Zone), and @Khalid (https://t.me/Khalid) Shikur (Coordinator) for their valuable support in facilitating the event.
Special recognition is also given to @Kokeb (https://t.me/Kokeb) Abera, Department Chairperson of Cybersecurity, for his dedicated role in facilitating the program from its initial planning stages through to its successful completion, and for delivering the closing remarks.
