=======================
Mr. Adugna Necho Mulatu, successfully defended his PhD dissertation at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering under the Computer Engineering Program. will present his dissertation titled “Reliable and Deterministic Time-Slotted Channel Hopping-Based Communication for Industrial Internet of Things,” addresses critical challenges in ensuring reliable and predictable communication systems within industrial IoT environments.
The study focuses on improving communication efficiency and dependability in industrial systems where timing and reliability are essential. By leveraging time-slotted channel hopping techniques, the research contributes to advancing robust wireless communication frameworks suitable for complex industrial applications.
The dissertation was supervised by Dr. Marco Zennaro, with co-supervision from Dr. Fikreselam Gared, both of whom provided academic guidance throughout the research process.
Faculty members, postgraduate students, and invited guests attended the public defense, engaging in scholarly discussion and evaluation of the candidate’s work. The presentation highlighted not only the technical depth of the research but also its practical implications for the future of industrial automation and smart systems.
The successful defense reflects Bahir Dar Institute of Technology’s continued commitment to advancing research, innovation, and academic excellence in engineering and technology fields.
The event underscores the growing role of Ethiopian institutions in contributing to global technological solutions, particularly in emerging areas such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
During the defense session, examiners and members of the academic community raised critical questions and provided constructive feedback.
Mr. Adugna Necho Mulatu addressed these comments with clear, well-structured, and scientifically sound responses, demonstrating strong command of both the theoretical foundations and experimental methodologies of his research.
The Bahir Dar Institute of Technology extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Adugna Necho Mulatu on his successful PhD dissertation defense and outstanding academic achievement.
