HAPPENING NOW || The 7th ICT4DA International Conference Opens at BiT-BDU

The 7th International Conference on ICT for Development in Africa (ICT4DA-2025) officially opened today at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT), Bahir Dar University, under the central theme Digital Innovation for Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth. The two-day event, held from November 21–22, 2025, brings together researchers, academics, ICT industry experts, government officials, and development partners from across Africa and beyond.
The opening program was attended by Bahir Dar University’s top management, keynote speakers, international researchers, and BiT-BDU stakeholders. Participants are engaging in rich academic discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaborative networking aimed at advancing scientific and technological innovation.
Organized by the ICT4D Research Center of BiT, the conference serves as a platform to share innovative ideas, strengthen partnerships, and promote research in Information and Communication Technologies for development. Over the past eight years, ICT4DA has successfully hosted six conferences, publishing more than 200 conference and workshop papers. Proceedings from the first two editions were published by Springer, while later editions have been indexed on IEEE Xplore.
This year’s conference is technically sponsored by the IEEE African Council and IEEE Sub-Section, and the ICT4DA-2025 proceedings will also be published on IEEE Xplore. Distinguished speakers from Europe and Africa are delivering keynote speeches on cutting-edge developments in ICT.
The program features keynote addresses, panel discussions, and special sessions. A total of 125 research papers were submitted, of which 47 peer-reviewed papers were accepted for presentation in parallel and special sessions. The rigorous review process involved 119 reviewers from 47 institutions.

7ኛው ዓለም አቀፍ የአይሲቲ ጉባዔ ተካሄደ

(ህዳር 13/2018 ዓ.ም/ ባሕርዳር) 7ኛው ዓለም አቀፍ የአይሲቲ ጉባዔ የአይሲቲ እድገት ለአፍሪካ በባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ቴክኖሎጂ ኢንስቲትዩት አይሲቲ ምርምርና እድገት ማዕከል አዘጋጅነት በርካታ የሀገር ውስጥ እና የውጭ ሀገራት ምሁራን እና ተመራማሪዎች በተገኙበት በጃንሞስኮቭ ቤተ መፃህፍት መሰብሰቢያ አዳራሽ ተካሄደ፡፡
የኮንፈረንሱን አጠቃላይ ይዘት ለተሳታፊዎች ያብራሩት የአይሲቲ 4ዳ ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር እሱባለው አለምነህ በዚህ ዓመት 125 የምርምር ወረቀቶች ቀርበው በቅድመ ልየታ 90 ወረቀቶች ለገምጋሚዎች ተሰጥተዋል ብለዋል፡፡ ለዚህ ኮንፈረንስ ከተመረጡ 54 ወረቀቶች 47ቱ ተመዝግበው በገፅ ለገፅ እና በበይነ መረብ እንደሚቀርቡ ተናግረዋል፡፡

በአርባ ምንጭ ዩኒቨርሲቲ መምህርን ተመራማሪ እንዲሁም የአይሲቲ 4D 2025 አዘጋጅ ኮሚቴ አባል የሆኑት ዶ/ር መሀመድ አበበ በበኩላቸው ኮንፈረንሱን ስናዘጋጅ የዲጂታል ቴክኖሎጂን ጥቅም በምርምር አስደግፈን ለተጠቃሚዎች ለማስተዋወቅ ነው ብለዋል፡፡የቴክኖሎጂ አጠቃቀማችን እንደ ኢትዮጵያ ብሎም እንደ አፍሪካ ብዙ ይቀረናል ያሉት ዶ/ር መሀመድ ከችግሩ ለመውጣት መሰል ስራዎች ተጠናክረው መቀጠል አለባቸው ብለዋል፡፡አክለውም ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ምርምሮችን በመስራትና በመምራት ፣መንግስት ፖሊሲዎችን በማውጣት ዲጂታል ቴክኖሎጂን ለተጠቃሚዎች የማድረስ ግደታዎችን መወጣት አለባቸው ብለዋል፡፡

7ኛው ዓለም አቀፍ የአይሲቲ ጉባዔ ላይ ተገኝተው የመክፈቻ ንግግር ያደረጉት የባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር መንገሻ አየነ ለተሳታፊዎች እንኳን ወደ ውቢቱ ባሕር ዳር በደህና መጣችሁ ካሉ በኋላ ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከ30000 በላይ ተማሪዎች፣ከ2000 በላይ የአካዳሚክ እና 5000 በላይ የአስተዳደር ሰራተኞችን ይዞ በ9 ካምፓሶች፣በ3 ትምህርት ቤቶች፣በ3 ኢንስቲትዩቶችና በአምስት ኮሌጆች ተደራጂቶ በርካታ የመማር ማስተማር፣የምርምር እና የማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት ዘርፍ ላይ እሰራ የሚገኝ ዩኒቨርሲቲ መሆኑን ጠቅሰው በዚህ ኮንፈረንስ ሚቀርቡ የምርምር ሃሳቦችም ዩኒቨርሲቲውን የምርምረ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የማድረግ ተልዕኮ አጋዥ ተደርገው ይወሰዳሉ ብለዋል፡፡አክለውም በሀገር አቀፍ ደረጃ ለተያዘው የዲጅታል ትራንስፎርሜሽን ስራ ተጨባጭ አስተዋፅኦ እያደረግን እንገኛን ብለዋል፡፡ሌሎች የኢትዮጵያ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎችም የአይሲቲ 4D አካል እንዲሆኑ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል፡፡

የባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ቴክኖሎጂ ኢንስቲትዩት ሳይንቲፊክ ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር ምትኩ ዳምጤ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ከተሰጣቸው ተልዕኮዎች መካከል አንዱ የሆነው የምርምር ስራ በማዘጋጀት የምርምር ወረቀቶችን አቅርቦ እውቀትን ማጋራት ነው በማለት ከንፈረንሱ ከዚህ ባለፈ ጀማሪ ተመራማሪዎችና ተማሪዎች ከትልልቅ ፕሮፌሰሮች ልምድ የሚያገኙበት መድረክ ነው ብለዋል፡፡በተቋሙ በአይሲቲ 4D እና በአይካስት በአመት በትንሹ 100 ወረቀቶች እንደሚታተሙ ተናግረው የዚህ ኮንፈረንስ ዋና አላማም የምርምር ውቴቶችን ማጋራት፣መወያየትና አዲስ ሃሳብ ማመንጨት ነው ብለዋል፡፡
7ኛው ዓለም አቀፍ የአይሲቲ ጉባዔ ለሁለት ቀናት ያህል በበይነ መረብ እና በቡድን መድረኮች ሲካሄድ ቆይቶ በተሳካ ሁኔታ ተጠናቋል፡፡
