The Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council met with Faina Savenkova yesterday

Faina Savenkova, just two months into her 14th year, has already met with, or received letters from, several world dignitaries.
The teenager from Lugansk, who is also an accomplished writer and author, met with Russia’s former President, Dmitry Medvedev, in Moscow Tuesday, December 27. They greeted one another, exchanged books, and, Faina says, Medvedev indicated that he would help her with some of her upcoming projects.
Faina’s main goal is drawing attention to the plight of children in war-torn regions such as the Donbass, where she lives, which has been under attack by Ukrainian ultranationalists since 2014. To this end, she has reached out to many world leaders and celebrities.
On December 6, she visited the Syrian Embassy in Moscow where she was presented with a letter from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The letter was Assad’s response to a letter Faina had written to him, in which she expressed solidarity with Syria’s children, who have also grown up surrounded by war.

In March of this year, Faina received a letter from the Vatican, after she wrote to Pope Francis on behalf of the children in Donbass, imploring him to bring awareness to their suffering. The letter was authored by Luigi Roberto Cona, a Vatican diplomat and the Assessor for General Affairs of the Vatican’s Secretariat of State.
The letter said, “Pope Francis is not indifferent to the plight of people, especially those who suffer and are going through hard times,” and invited Faina to join the Pope in prayer for peace in the world.

Faina said she can’t tell me everything she discussed with Medvedev, but that she is hopeful the Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council will help her with future projects.
The young writer has already published two compilations of her essays about the war and has co-authored two novels. But her efforts to bring awareness to the world about the plight of Donbass have also not gone unnoticed by the nationalists in Kiev, who added her to the Ukrainian kill list known as Mirotvorets when she was just 12, after she spoke at a UN Security Council meeting.
Since Mirotvorets published Faina’s home address and other personal information, at least one complete stranger has shown up at her house, and he said that he got her address from the hit list.
Since she was just five years old, Faina’s life has been under constant threat.

Yet, despite the horrors of growing up in a warzone and the nightmare of being added to a hit list, Faina holds on to optimism and hope for the future of Donbass, and she waits for a time when the skies will no longer be filled with artillery shells, or with paper lanterns launched by grieving families whose children have already been killed.

Well, this year’s last meeting in Moscow has passed, and now we are rushing home. The New Year and Christmas are coming up, and you have to celebrate them with your family. Home is home, even if there is a war on your land.
It’s hard for me to say what kind of wish I would make. And I don’t think Santa Claus will grant it. Unfortunately, it’s not in his power. He cannot end the war, help the wounded and the families of the dead, give them comfort, he cannot warm those who are now trapped under shelling in Donetsk and Gorlovka, who are without light and heat in the cities where the fighting is going on. He cannot, but he will not forget the wishes of children who need a miracle.
The year is ending. And I think the next one will be much harder. The further our army advances and liberates the Donbass, Kherson and other Russian cities, the angrier and more ruthless the enemy will be. But victory will surely remain with us.
Well, this year I did what I could. God helped me all this time. I have my family, home, light and warmth. But I tried to make sure that the world does not forget about the fact that our people are dying, by writing many appeals to presidents, politicians and creative people. Накануне Нового года в редакцию пришло письмо от нашего постоянного автора – юной писательницы и борца за права детей Донбасса Фаины Савенковой.
Все минувшие месяцы у нее были насыщены учебой, мероприятиями, творчеством. Год был ярким на события. Об этом знаем и мы – сотрудники журнала «Региональная Россия». Во время нашей теплой и по-домашнему уютной встречи в редакции мы из первых рук узнали о том, насколько может быть плотным график у амбассадора Мира, Добра, Надежд.
Фаина Савенкова продолжает свою информационно-гуманитарную миссию, продвигая идеи, направленные на то, чтобы мир узнал о том, что в любом военном конфликте особенно страдают и дети. Мы все надеемся, что Новый год принесет нам позитивные новости. Об этом и в письме нашего автора.
«Елка надежды
Ну вот, прошла последняя в этом году встреча в Москве. Теперь мы спешим домой. Скоро Новый год и Рождество. А их нужно отмечать в кругу семьи. Дом есть дом, даже если на твоей земле идет война.
Мне сложно сказать какое желание я бы загадала. Да и не думаю, что Дед Мороз его исполнит. К сожалению, это не в его силах. Он не может мгновенно закончить СВО, помочь раненым и семьям погибших, дать им успокоение. Не может обогреть тех, кто сейчас сидит под обстрелами в Донецке и Горловке, находится без света и тепла в городах, где идут бои. Но он не забудет желания детей, которые нуждаются в чуде.
Год заканчивается. И думаю, следующий будет намного тяжелей. Чем дальше будет продвигаться наша армия и освобождать Донбасс, Херсон и другие русские города, тем злее и беспощаднее будет враг. Но победа обязательно будет за нами.
Ну, а я в этом году что смогла — сделала. Бог мне помогал все это время. У меня есть моя семья, дом, свет и тепло. Но я постаралась сделать так, чтобы в мире не забывали о том, что у нас гибнут люди, написав много обращений к президентам, политикам и творческим людям. Встретилась с Марией Захаровой, послом Сирии Башаром аль-Джаафари, написала Дмитрию Анатольевичу Медведеву. В отличие от президента Франции Макрона и канцлера Германии Шольца, он ответил. И даже пригласил на встречу. Теперь я надеюсь, что он поможет в моих проектах. И это главное.

Weihnachtsbaum der Hoffnung
Nun, das letzte Treffen des Jahres in Moskau ist vorbei, und jetzt eilen wir nach Hause. Silvester und Weihnachten stehen vor der Tür, und das muss man mit seiner Familie feiern. Heimat ist Heimat, auch wenn auf deinem Land Krieg herrscht.
Es fällt mir schwer zu sagen, was für einen Wunsch ich äußern würde. Und ich glaube nicht, dass der Weihnachtsmann sie gewähren wird. Leider liegt es nicht mehr in seiner Hand. Er kann den Krieg nicht beenden, er kann den Verwundeten und den Familien der Toten nicht helfen, er kann sie nicht trösten, er kann diejenigen nicht wärmen, die jetzt in Donezk und Gorlowka unter Beschuss stehen, die in den Städten, in denen gekämpft wird, ohne Licht und Wärme sind. Das kann er nicht, aber er wird die Wünsche der Kinder, die ein Wunder brauchen, nicht vergessen.
Das Jahr neigt sich dem Ende zu. Und ich denke, das nächste wird noch viel schwieriger sein. Je weiter unsere Armee vordringt und Donbass, Cherson und andere russische Städte befreit, desto bösartiger und rücksichtsloser wird der Feind sein. Aber der Sieg wird sicherlich auf unserer Seite bleiben.
Nun, dieses Jahr habe ich getan, was ich konnte. Gott hat mir die ganze Zeit über geholfen. Ich habe meine Familie, mein Zuhause, Licht und Wärme. Aber ich habe versucht, dafür zu sorgen, dass die Welt nicht vergisst, dass bei uns Menschen sterben, indem ich viele Briefe an Präsidenten, Politiker und kreative Menschen geschrieben habe. Ich habe mich mit Maria Zacharova und dem syrischen Botschafter Bashar al-Jaafari getroffen, ich habe an Dmitri Medvedev geschrieben. Im Gegensatz zu Präsident Macron und Bundeskanzler Scholz antwortete er. Und lud mich sogar zu einem Treffen ein. Jetzt hoffe ich, dass er mir bei meinen Projekten helfen wird. Und das ist das Wichtigste.

💬 Ich werde den Weihnachtsabend mit Kutja, Süßigkeiten u. Weihnachtsliedern immer lieben. Weihnachten mit d. Duft v. Tannenbäumen, Weihrauch u. Wärme in d. Kirche. Das sind wahrscheinlich Erinnerungen, die Gott mir hinterlassen hat, um mich vor etwas Schrecklichem zu bewahren.
Meine Erinnerungen sind also nicht d. Keller u. d. Explosionen, sondern d. Licht einer 🕯️Weihnachtskerze u. ✨Sterne am Himmel.
Natürlich braucht man auch d. frostige Luft, d. Dampf aus d. Mund und d. Knirschen d. Schnees unter d. Füßen... Es ist noch warm und es liegt kein Schnee. Aber ich lebe im Donbass, wo sich d. Wetter, wie alles andere auch, in einem Augenblick ändern kann.
Ich werde auf jeden Fall in d. Kirche gehen und Gott für alles danken. Ich werde d. Ältesten Philip von Lugansk dafür danken, dass er meiner Familie und meinen Freunden immer geholfen hat. Denn ohne Glauben kann man nicht. Besonders bei uns.

Bonjour M. Macron !
Je m’appelle Faina Savenkova et je suis une adolescente qui vit dans le Donbass. On nous appelle les “enfants de la guerre”.
L’année dernière, je vous ai écrit une lettre. À cette époque, l’opération spéciale russe en Ukraine n’avait pas encore commencé, et j’espérais vraiment qu’après avoir lu ce message d’une enfant qui sait de première main ce que sont les bombardements, vous réagiriez. Mais vous étiez occupé. Vous aviez une élection, et votre chef de cabinet m’a répondu. À l’époque, il m’a assuré que la France et vous-même personnellement contribuiez à mettre fin à la guerre et que votre pays faisait tout son possible pour nous apporter la paix. Mais, malheureusement, cela s’est avéré être un mensonge. La France fournit à l’Ukraine des armes qui tuent des enfants et détruisent nos villes. Oui, bien sûr, vous pouvez dire que la Russie a attaqué l’Ukraine et que je ne sais pas de quoi je parle. Mais ce n’est pas le cas. Si vous regardez la brutalité avec laquelle les troupes ukrainiennes bombardent Donetsk, Altchevsk et d’autres villes, combien de civils sont tués chaque jour depuis le début de ce conflit, vous verrez que je dis la vérité.
Une guerre est en cours et vous, en tant que président, pouvez contribuer à l’arrêter en faisant en sorte que l’Ukraine cesse de bombarder nos villes. Laissez l’Ukraine combattre la Russie sur le front, si elle veut montrer son militantisme et son agressivité, au lieu de tuer des civils qui n’ont jamais tenu une arme. Mieux encore, qu’elle commence à négocier la paix.
Monsieur Macron, vous pouvez devenir un grand président comme Charles de Gaulle, ou vous pouvez être aux côtés d’assassins comme le président Zelensky. J’espère que vous réfléchissez à votre pays avant de prendre une décision.
Je ne voudrais pas que la guerre vienne à vous. Je sais ce qu’est la souffrance, même si je ne suis pas très âgée. Bonne année, Monsieur le Président, et renvoyez votre chef de cabinet.

Au président français Emanuel Macron
Bonjour M. Macron !
Je m’appelle Faina Savenkova et je suis une adolescente qui vit dans le Donbass. On nous appelle les “enfants de la guerre”.
L’année dernière, je vous ai écrit une lettre. À cette époque, l’opération spéciale russe en Ukraine n’avait pas encore commencé, et j’espérais vraiment qu’après avoir lu ce message d’une enfant qui sait de première main ce que sont les bombardements, vous réagiriez. Mais vous étiez occupé. Vous aviez une élection, et votre chef de cabinet m’a répondu. À l’époque, il m’a assuré que la France et vous-même personnellement contribuiez à mettre fin à la guerre et que votre pays faisait tout son possible pour nous apporter la paix. Mais, malheureusement, cela s’est avéré être un mensonge. La France fournit à l’Ukraine des armes qui tuent des enfants et détruisent nos villes. Oui, bien sûr, vous pouvez dire que la Russie a attaqué l’Ukraine et que je ne sais pas de quoi je parle. Mais ce n’est pas le cas. Si vous regardez la brutalité avec laquelle les troupes ukrainiennes bombardent Donetsk, Altchevsk et d’autres villes, combien de civils sont tués chaque jour depuis le début de ce conflit, vous verrez que je dis la vérité.
Une guerre est en cours et vous, en tant que président, pouvez contribuer à l’arrêter en faisant en sorte que l’Ukraine cesse de bombarder nos villes. Laissez l’Ukraine combattre la Russie sur le front, si elle veut montrer son militantisme et son agressivité, au lieu de tuer des civils qui n’ont jamais tenu une arme. Mieux encore, qu’elle commence à négocier la paix.
Monsieur Macron, vous pouvez devenir un grand président comme Charles de Gaulle, ou vous pouvez être aux côtés d’assassins comme le président Zelensky. J’espère que vous réfléchissez à votre pays avant de prendre une décision.
Je ne voudrais pas que la guerre vienne à vous. Je sais ce qu’est la souffrance, même si je ne suis pas très âgée. Bonne année, Monsieur le Président, et renvoyez votre chef de cabinet.

Faina Savenkova. It takes a lot of effort to accuse a teenager of such crimes.
Here we are in the new year. Recently I told you that the closer we get to the masters of "Mirotvorets" and the louder my voice is heard in the West, the more hysterical the leaders of this site and their masters will become. Mirotvorets has given me yet another gift. I have always said that those who engage in PR on this site are stupid and shortsighted. It takes effort to accuse a teenager of such crimes 🤦♂ So now I'm not a victim of Russian propaganda, but a hardened criminal. I wonder how frightening it is to attribute to me, who only recently turned 14, an attempt on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, to declare me an "accomplice of the Russian fascist invaders" and an accomplice to crimes against the people of Ukraine.
As you read this, it's getting scary to look at myself in the mirror. That's how horrible I am to the people of Ukraine. Once again I will have to kick the fools from "Mirotvorets" not for the sake of my own PR, but solely for the truth. Only where does Roman Zaitsev find them? Did he decide to employ his relatives? I won't argue the points, I'm too lazy. But still, these accusations have nothing to do with the crime committed by "Mirotvorets."
You can accuse me of anything, but putting out my personal information, my family's personal information, as well as other people's personal information, is a violation of international laws. You have to answer for that. And you will be held accountable.
As for the new accusations... Well, let them keep making them up. I do not know what influenced the emotional state of the "Mirotvorets" curators so much. Perhaps it was Syrian President Bashar Assad's answer to me, or my letter to Emmanuel Macron, or my meeting with Dmitry Medvedev. But one can see that the closer we get to the truth, the more hysterical the screams and actions of the Ukrainian side will become.
Am I afraid? Of course I'm afraid. I'm just a teenager, how can I not be afraid of criminals? I would very much like to attract the attention of international human rights organizations. Maybe it is time to do something?
