Faina Savenkova's Creative Evening in Moscow
This time we had planned a presentation of our new book "Codename "Marta," with my co-author, Aleksandr Kontorovich, in Moscow, but he is very busy at the moment. The war continues... So it was decided to organize a creative evening. Yes, my first-ever creative evening at which I have to speak by myself. Answering questions, you can no longer hide behind the back of a co-author. And even if many people may say that it's easy to talk in front of an audience like that, I disagree. It's not. When you represent not only yourself but also Donbass, you have to do your best.
The creative evening, as usual, was held in the Russian Youth Library, hosted by my friend Evgeny Kharitonov. For the third year the library welcomes me within its walls, and I guess I would not have been so comfortable anywhere else. In 2021, we were offered the Great Hall of the All-Russian Central Academic Library, but we turned it down. In the youth center, life is in full swing, the library is developing, and this is the main thing that a young author needs.
An hour and a half about important things, but also about creativity, a little bit about the war and the dreams I live with. Unfortunately, the time flew by without notice and the meeting came to an end. Of course, I also made some mistakes and felt a little nervous, but when you talk about your life and answer questions from foreign journalists, writers who have achieved a lot in their lives, you do get very nervous, even though many of those who came are your friends.
I wanted to mention Rugram Publishing House separately. We've been working with Diana Smirnova and Rugram for three years now, we have a very warm friendship, and Rugram helps me with everything. It is very important for a young author just starting out, to be heard by the publisher, to be in constant contact with them, and to grow with them. I would like to give special thanks to the writers Alexei Gravitsky, Sergey Chekmaev and Ivan Naumov, whom I look up to and learn from. Thank you for always believing in me, supporting me, and never refusing to come and visit me.
The creative evening was over. It was fun, exciting in some ways, but it was an unforgettable experience for me, as it was the first in the life of a young author.
