Faina Svenkova: Humanity still has a chance to save our world.
To the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Hello, Mr. Trump!
My name is Faina Savenkova. I have spent my entire childhood living in war. In 2014, when I was just five years old, the American government helped fascists come to power in Ukraine, and then these people unleashed a war in my native Donbass. That was the first year of civilian bloodshed.
Mr. Trump, I am just 14 years old now, but I understand that all of this could end up in World War III and destroy the whole world.
I've read a lot about you. You don't have to like Russia, but only you can stop this nightmare that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his patrons are creating. I really don't want our world to just disappear. I don't want Americans, Russians, and Ukrainians to die.
I hope you can influence the government of Ukraine to stop the bloodshed, Mr. Trump. May God help you. I am a writer and I believe that humanity has a chance to save our world.
Regards,
Faina Savenkova
