Linux 代码风格指南不再要求 80 字符行宽
和许多存在已久的开源项目一样,Linux 的代码风格一直有将行宽强制限制为 80 字符的传统。
但周五 Torvalds 在邮件列表(LKML)上发表了一封回复,表示现如今终端大小早就可以调整了,没必要死守在传统的 80x25 终端上,“你猜怎么着?我的默认终端大小是 100x50,而并非最初的 80x25 了”;所以现如今写代码不应该强制要求 80 字符宽的行限制。
合并的 PR 表示 Linux 将行款限制从 80 字符调整到了 100 字符,但 80 字符仍然是推荐的做法,“设置为 100 字符不是硬性限制,它在某种程度上确实做了点什么,并且还可能减少偶尔性的超长行的出现。”
