David Farrar: It is astonishing that media have run multiple articles condemning sexist attacks on female MPs from social media users, but then turn around and run a column from a journalist that calls female Ministers c**ts. The hypocrisy is massive.

Still nothing but silence from The Post and Stuff who regularly cover the torrent of abuse women MP’s receive.

The Minister of Finance even mentions it in the opening paragraph in her opinion piece and still there has been no comment from management.

There’s a lot of misinformation going around so here’s a few facts:

No woman is having their pay cut.
Expect the same pay this week to next week.

Equal Pay is here to stay.
Women can expect to be paid the same as any man for doing the same job.

At the moment, people are comparing admin staff to mechanical engineers, social workers to air traffic controllers, and librarians to corrections officers.

The Government is building more robustness into the system so it’s workable. People can still bring a claim, but they’ll need to compare with jobs paid by the same employer, a similar employer or within the same industry.
