It’s strategically significant for supporting Pakistan Army land operations and Pakistan Navy maritime operations, particularly in safeguarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

I am pleased to announce the Governments of India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to start talks on a broad set of issues at a neutral site.

The Director General of Military Operations of Pakistan called DGMO of India at 15:35 hrs earlier this afternoon. It was agreed that both sides will stop firing in land, air and sea from 17.00 hours IST. DGMO will talk on 12 May
